Beginning in the summer of 2012, FFI will give students the opportunity to focus on essential and practical aspects of commercial motion picture production, including script preparation, cinematography, lighting, sound recording, directing, editing, acting and music. The program will feature instruction by South Florida Film Industry professionals, and will also include a beginners Yoga class for students. At the end of the session, participants will showcase their film at the theatre. Deadline is June 1st, 2012. The workshops are $495 total for 6 weeks.

The Coral Gables Art Cinema is a project of the Coral Gables Cinemateque, Inc., a non-profit film arts organization. The Cinema, which opened in October of 2010, has a16/35mm and industry-standard theatrical quality digital projection with 141 stadium-configured seats. The Cinema offers one of the best venues for appreciating alternative film in South Florida. It operates year-round, seven-days-a-week, presenting high quality American independent, foreign and classic films that are not generally available at other theaters in South Florida.
