Florida Film Institute Hosts Professional Scriptwriting Workshop, Oct. 11, 2006 |
CONTACT: Miami – October 11, 2006 – The Florida Film Institute (FFI) “Crafting Scenes . . . Creating Actions” intensive scriptwriting workshop is now open to all aspiring script writers, producers, directors, novelists, playwrights, actors and college students. The four-sessions will be held October 30, November 6, 13, and 15th from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm. The workshop will be held at Cineworks Digital Studios, Miami’s premier film laboratory and state of the art post production facility, located at 6550 N.E. 4th Court. This year’s workshop will feature instruction by Writer/Director Alyn Darnay, winner of eleven outstanding awards of excellence, including two “Best of Show” Telly Awards. The workshop is designed to enhance each participant’s ability to develop a script, while improving their skill to create multi-layered characters, expressive and dynamic dialogue, and imaginary plot twists and turns. Past participants of the workshop series, have won major film festival awards for their scripts and have had screenplays produced. In addition to Darnay’s instruction, the workshop also will feature renowned acting coach, Sherry Faith, instructor of “Masters Class Acting Workshop Series” and “Kidzz-On-Camera.” Accompanying Faith will be a troop of actors that will perform scenes from participant’s scripts during the final session. Each session is interactive and allows all students to participate. Registration is available online at www.flfilminstitute.org and will end on October 26, 2006. The cost for the workshop is $200 (limited to 25 script writers). In addition, FFI will offer scholarships to five eligible participants. Founded in 1992, the Florida Film Institute teaches the art, science and business of filmmaking through a series of workshops designed to inspire and empower aspiring filmmakers, providing them with the know-how to create their own film.
