WORKSHOPS CINERAMA SATURDAYS |
|
Beginning this fall, CINERAMA Saturdays will run from September 17, 2011 to February 25, 2012. This is a career exploration/development program implemented over an 18-session workshop series is designed to empower aspiring student filmmakers with all the knowledge to produce a motion picture. In addition to the aesthetic and technical basics of the discipline, students learn about the business environment of motion picture production in order to realistically prepare them for a career in filmmaking. Strategies used include in-class hands-on instruction and coaching from working film professionals, with each session consisting of a short lecture and demonstration by a film industry professional with a Q&A session followed by hands-on experience working in teams with professional film equipment. All audition participants must come prepared with a sample of their creative work for the judges. This may include art work, a short poem or film and singing or dancing. The workshops will take place on Saturdays from 10:30am to 12:30pm, and is open to students from ages 13 -18. The workshops are FREE, $25.00 registration fee is required. The Little Haiti Cultural Center offers a unique opportunity for residents and visitors to gain exposure to Afro-Caribbean culture, entertain and develop a new talent, and expand their knowledge of the arts. We are committed to providing activities for the community that promotes imagination, creativity, and positive experiences for children and adults throughout the year. |
